Process : Glass bracelets

To create a bracelet, pieces of glass are fused to create “blanks”, which are slumped over a stainless steel form and hand manipulated in the kiln to form the bracelet.

 

Set Up Bracelets
Long, rectangular blanks are positioned over the stainless steel form.

 

Slumped Bracelets
When the bracelets are slumped over the form, I open the kiln and manipulate the fallen ends around the steel form, then quickly “chill” the glass by leaving the kiln lid open only until the glass just sets, then resume the program to anneal the bracelets.
